Long-term success depends on protecting the restorations, maintaining healthy supporting teeth and gums, and attending the professional maintenance recommended for your individual treatment.
If You Have Temporary Restorations
Temporaries are designed to protect prepared teeth and help evaluate the developing smile, but they will not feel identical to the final restorations. They may feel less smooth and less durable. Mild tenderness following tooth preparation can occur. Clean them gently and follow the specific brushing, rinsing and interdental-care instructions provided by your clinician.
Sensitivity & Comfort
Some temperature or chewing sensitivity can occur after final crowns or veneers are placed and may take time to settle. The amount varies according to the condition of the underlying teeth and the extent of previous decay, fractures or restorations. Contact SR Dental Zone if sensitivity is severe, persistent or progressively worsening.
Your Bite
Once local anaesthesia has completely worn off, your bite should feel comfortable and balanced. If a restoration feels persistently high, uneven or uncomfortable, please contact the clinic for assessment. A small occlusal adjustment may sometimes be required.
Daily Smile Care
Brush twice daily and clean between the teeth every day using the technique recommended for your restorations. Where tissue contouring or periodontal esthetic treatment has been performed, follow the clinician's site-specific instructions before brushing or using interdental devices in that area. Use a water flosser only when and where advised.
Protecting Crowns & Veneers
Ceramic restorations are designed for durability but are not indestructible. Avoid biting very hard objects such as ice and hard candy, and use care with nuts, very chewy foods and sticky caramel-type sweets. Frequent exposure to coffee, tea, wine, tobacco and other strongly staining substances may affect long-term esthetics.
If clenching or bruxism has been diagnosed, use the protective appliance or management recommended by your dentist. Unmanaged excessive bite forces can chip, fracture or otherwise compromise restorations over time.
When to Contact SR Dental Zone
Please arrange an assessment for persistent bite discomfort, severe or increasing sensitivity, swelling, a loose or fractured restoration, repeated food trapping, gum inflammation around the restorations, or any unexpected change in comfort or appearance.
Smile Preservation & Follow-Up
Periodic clinical evaluation and professional hygiene allow the team to monitor the restorations, supporting teeth, gums and bite over time. The original Smile Design protocol requires six-monthly check-ups and cleaning for regular patients; periodontal patients may require more frequent professional maintenance according to their clinical condition.
The SR Dental Zone Smile Philosophy
SR Dental Zone's current Smile Architecture approach considers tooth proportions, alignment, facial relationships, gingival contours and function as interconnected elements. Digital smile planning, intraoral scanning and CAD/CAM restorative workflows may be used where they add clinical value, with the aim of integrating restorations naturally with the teeth, bite and face .
Warranty & Assurance
Qualifying crowns and veneers are supported for defects in materials or workmanship, subject to the duration and onditions specified in the approved treatment plan and the prescribed maintenance protocol.
Warranty Duration
The warranty begins on the date the restoration is delivered and remains valid for the duration specified in the approved/consenting treatment plan, subject to compliance with the recommended maintenance protocol.
Maintaining Warranty Eligibility
Patients should remain under continuing professional care and attend the review, preventive maintenance, professional hygiene and radiographic appointments recommended for their clinical needs. Regular patients generally require two professional cleaning appointments per year; patients with periodontal concerns may require three to four per year according to clinical recommendation.
The Warranty Does Not Extend To
- discoloration, staining or esthetic compromise associated with smoking/tobacco, staining foods or beverages, or inadequate oral hygiene
- caries, decay, periodontal disease or other biological complications affecting supporting teeth or tissues
- replacement or modification required because of unrelated additional dental treatment or evolving oral conditions
- damage arising from trauma, accidents, ice chewing, excessive clenching, bruxism or other unmanaged parafunctional or occlusal forces.
- failure to attend recommended maintenance, review, professional hygiene or radiographic appointments
- inadequate oral hygiene or failure to follow prescribed long-term care instructions
- refusal of recommended management for diagnosed bruxism or significant occlusal instability
- failure to complete advised treatment within the clinically recommended timeframe in the affected area
- repair, adjustment, modification or treatment of the restoration by another clinic or individual without prior coordination with SR Dental Zone.
Conditions That May Void the Warranty
Repair or Replacement
Where a qualifying restoration is confirmed to have a defect in materials or workmanship, SR Dental Zone will assess whether repair is appropriate. If repair is not feasible, replacement will be considered in accordance with the material-based warranty and the terms of the approved treatment plan.
Precision Restorative Workflow
SR Dental Zone combines digital smile planning, intraoral scanning and in-house CAD/CAM restorative workflows with premium ceramic and zirconia materials where clinically appropriate. These technologies support precision in planning, fit and restorative design; long-term clinical success still depends on biology, bite forces, oral hygiene and ongoing professional maintenance.
Important Reminders
1. A mandatory check-up should be scheduled within 72 hours of treatment completion.
2. Schedule a follow-up visit at SR Dental Zone every six months for the professional care and maintenance recommended after treatment completion.
3. If you have periodontal concerns or a personalised maintenance schedule, follow the more frequent interval recommended by your clinician.

Smile Design may involve veneers, crowns, periodontal esthetics, orthodontics or other procedures. Your approved treatment plan and personalised clinical instructions take priority over general guidance.
